A research institute studying AI and the systems it touches.
LuMiNx works on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, alongside the adjacent fields that shape them — language, governance, infrastructure, and rights.
Mission
We work at the seam between AI and security. The systems that decide, authenticate, persuade, and enforce now share one substrate. Studying either in isolation has become a category error.
Our work aims at a future built together — a future that belongs to all of humanity. Humanities and technology, in parallel.
Programme
Three threads run through what we are currently building.
- Identity without secrets
- Replacing shared-secret authentication with possession and presence — passkeys and passwordless sign-in. This is the work behind OrbitID.
- Edge-native communication
- Federated, end-to-end encrypted messaging that runs on globally distributed runtimes rather than a single region-bound server. This is the work behind MatrixFlare.
- Engineering literacy for the AI era
- A learning map that builds the engineering common sense and systems intuition needed to direct AI effectively — calibration, communication, anatomy, deployment, and operating safely. This is the work behind Map First.
Stance
Open where we can. We publish notes and findings, and open-source what we responsibly can — though some systems, such as invite-only identity infrastructure, stay private until they are ready. This site runs no analytics, sets no cookies, and embeds no third-party scripts.
Where we ship products, the same posture applies: minimum data, maximum transparency, no dark patterns.
